Arts Trail at Whangarei Heads

The Whangarei Heads Arts Trail has become firmly established as one of the highlights of the year for those interested in Art. It is a wonderful atmosphere for anyone simply enjoying the stunning Whangarei Heads Peninsula over the Easter weekend.

The beauty and energy of the area have attracted many Artists to establish residence and studios on the peninsula. With over 45 resident artists this 6000-hectare paradise is believed to have the highest concentration of resident Artists in New Zealand.

Each year these Artists open their studios for the Arts Trail Event. Visitors come from all over Northland, Auckland and further afield for the two day event. Artists include painters, potters, sculptors, jewellers, printmakers, woodworkers and more. Many of them nationally recognised.

Over 30 accommodation providers on the Whangarei Heads Peninsula, local cafes, tavern and specialty sites cater for the Arts Trail visitors. Make sure you put the event in your diary and book your accommodation early!
