Now it is your turn to discover the talent that is in the Whangarei Heads.

Whether you want to see how a ukelele is constructed, watch an oil painting in progress or get the inside know-how on a bit of glass blowing, the Whangarei Heads area boasts an artist for everyone.

Have a look at the list. There is wood craft, clay sculptures, furniture making and leadlights. Or link up with photographers and sculptors, quiltmakers, doll makers. Look on as painting artists work with every choice of medium. Oils, acrylics, pastel and impasto, view the photo real to figurative, impressionist, or caricature and whimsy. Potters and jewellers, a printmaker and weaver, a goldsmith and more.

Take the time to explore our side roads, waterfront, bush and beach enclaves to find the talent living here. Many of the areas artists have open studios or will welcome visitors by appointment at other times. Or look ahead to the next Whangarei Heads Arts Trail. This is held in Easter each year and boasts up to 40 participating artists.
